Christ in the seeing, the hearing, in the speaking and the touch Christ in the loving, caring in the serving and in the heart Christ in our thinking and our working in the wandering of our minds Deliver us from our mortal dreams they're darker than they seem Save us from ourselves be our everything be our all in all In our hurting, in our anguish in our weeping, in our pain In our watching, in our waiting in our silence, Christ... be our peace breathe through us as we pray breathe through us in our praise breathe through us in every word we speak breath Your life into all our days Now and forever

clear my mind - tell my soul to be still So I can hear You whisper in the middle of my noise Tell my waves to be still be still I just don’t get you sometimes I see you sleeping in the boat when I’m terrified Tell my waves to be still be still God of my anxiety Lord of my rest Author of my being Messiah, saviour of all these broken things We just don’t get it We probably never will Your perfection doesn’t make much sense to our minds We argue about you all the time We want to prove to you that we know what to do But when we try we only prove that the opposite is true We argue about it all the time God of our anxiety Lord of our rest Author of our being Messiah, saviour of all these broken things Let us learn to let go of the ruins we call home

write another song sing it as you go along nourishing our children nourishing our minds You’re alive, You’re moving, creating, always improving A living, breathing picture of the Father’s heart in motion With your heart, with your hands You clothe us in all splendor… beautiful to me With your life, and in your pain With everything you are you are everything beautiful to me You frequent other realms riding on the winds of the Spirit Reaching to the depths of God To craft another painting… another lyric And when you speak from your heart We all hear it, and feel it So sing your songs We will do our best to sing along as you walk with the Father Can we walk in silence as the winds of life blow all around us fill your hand with mine as we both breathe the air of God Share with me this silence as the winds of life rage all around us Fill your heart with mine, I’m so glad that you are mine Weave your heart inside of mine kindle me with the fires of your mind Weave your heart inside of mine kindle me with the fires of your life

life takes over the sun in it cracks through the clouds to dry the sweat on our backs A breeze it blows to refresh and to revive we can’t keep this joy inside Life takes over and the concrete breaks with flowers blooming that erase the hate of the daily life, and all its strife the mundane is swallowed by joy life takes over bursting from the ground no death can keep the Father’s chosen down No bitter cold - nor getting old can keep us from singing these songs of old We will sing Your praises in our weakness And we will sing Your praises in our strength Life takes over hear the heavens sing They see through the lives of pain That the kingdom comes Hear their message as it echoes across the plains life takes over bursting from the ground no death can keep the Father’s chosen down No bitter cold - nor getting old can keep us from singing these songs of old We will sing Your praises in our weakness And we will sing Your praises in our strength We will sing Your praises from our sick beds We will sing Your praises in our strength We will sing Your praises in our weakness And we will sing Your praises in our strength

Will you meet me here? Will you meet me here? The wind is shaking the trees on the mountain side that must be you… it must be you The wind it rips these mighty oaks apart that must be you… it must be you but you’re not there this is but a shadow this might is but a hallow desperation to believe Please let me hear you The earth… it shakes the ground beneath me that must be you… it must be you I see fire… consuming all around me that must be you… it must be true but you’re not there this is but a shadow this might is but a hallow desperation to believe Please let me near you to hear your still small voice Immanuel has come to us You let me near you To hear your still small voice pull me near you and hear your still small voice

fade 05:17
Performance has its limits And I believe I reached them years ago We lock inside and try to hide the pain we believe that no one else could know it’s all a trap a terrifying lie from hell and it can overcome your very core like a storm that will not quell So here we are again Locked inside this sin of unbelief We’re all desperate for a sweet sigh of relief can we see your eyes can we touch your robes let us feel Your breathing and know that you’re close and… Fade away into the arms of the Savior Fade away into the arms of Life Piercing through the dark The light that is not overcome reaching through the night the light that never fades we’re dying for freedom we’re desperate for freedom all around me (all around me) the liberating hands of the saints all around me (all around me) a love that cannot faint (and we…) Fade away into the arms of the Savior Fade away into the arms of Life

about

Start to finish, these are songs about life with God.

I'm amazed at his love. I'm blown away by the freedom he brings.

These songs came through a lot of tears and heart ache. Despite this, this has been the most joyous group of songs I've ever gotten to bring to life. I pray that they bless you the way they do me.

My biggest goal was to let the songs speak to me... to see what God wanted to say. In the end, my hope was to have an hour of music that I could connect with God. In short: I made these for me. Now I'm sharing them with you.

about

The Longing Selmer, Tennessee

The Longing is music by John and Yvonne Cullimore.

We seek to bring music that will connect with you both in sound and poetry, melding loops and beats with hammered dulcimer, 12-string guitar and layers of vocals and harmonies.

More importantly is that we enjoy our music, and can use them for worship and prayer. We certainly do hope and pray that you can do the same.
